May 12 marks Shigeo Kageyama’s birthday and although Mob Psycho 100 accounts previously teased an announcement, all we’ve gotten so far has been birthday artwork. The artwork was posted by Setsuo Ito, who voices Shigeo – Mob in the anime. It is unknown who the artist behind the illustration is.
Mob Psycho fans are currently awaiting additional details on the anime’s third season, which was announced in October 2021, after a 100-day countdown on the anime’s official Twitter account. Studio BONES returns to animate the sequel, with Takahiro Hasui directing. Hiroshi Seko is in charge of series composition, while Yoshimichi Kameda again handles character design. Kenji Kawai composes the music. At the time of the announcement, a special PV was unveiled:
Mob Psycho 100 is based on a manga by ONE, also known as the author of A punch. It began serialization in Ura Sunday magazine in 2012. The manga ended in 2017, after 101 chapters (16 volumes). A spin-off series Mob Psycho 100: Reigen was serialized from 2018 to 2019.
The first season of Mob Psycho 100 anime, from studio BONES, aired in the summer of 2016. The second season followed in 2019. The franchise also has a side story titled Mob Psycho 100 II: First Minds and Such a Corporate Journey – A journey that mends the heart and heals the soulas well as a Mob Psycho Mini omake and a recap episode titled Mob Psycho 100 Reigen: The Miraculous Unknown Medium.
